Virgin Mary’s Statue ‒ Immaculata Statue

On the pedestal, there is a line from the Song of Songs: “You are altogether beautiful, my darling; there is no flaw in you. 1854‒1904” The statue was made by Lipót Hild for the order of a widow, Kálmánné Pintér in 1904, in memory of her late husband, who died at an early age. On a 180-centimetre pillar, Mary stands on a crescent moon placed on a globe with her hands clasped in prayer. Her foot treads on the snake (“the symbol of evil”) winding around the sphere (“the symbol of perfection”).
